For those in the know the Big Muff Pi is a legendary pedal in the guitar world. Used by legends from David Gilmour and John Frusciante all the way to Billy Corgan and Kurt Cobain. Out of all the pedals I’ve owned I’ve definitely owned the most variants of this one but for one reason or another it never quite stuck to my board. I needed more options. Enter the mods.
Modelled somewhat after the JHS Moonpie mod, I added two additional switches that change or remove specific components. In effect, this changes the characteristics of the distortion produced by the pedal, resulting in more volume, clarity and less noise. And of course, I replaced the stock LED with a much cooler pink one. Now this baby is way more versatile and ready to kick some sonic butt.
